Imagination is your superpower!
ABOUT
By popular demand, we are once again excited to host our popular, in-store Magic: the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons day-camps for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays! Both camps are intended for new and intermediate players, ages 10 to 15 (9 yrs old with approval). Our daily drop-in scheduling for Magic camp is designed to be flexible to suit your needs. D&D must have full-week commitments. (see below)
Both Magic: the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons are great brain activities for youth. In addition to the sword and sorcery fantasy element, they exercise thinking skills like imagination, math, problem solving and reading. They also exercise social skills like taking turns speaking, self-confidence, sportsmanship and other group skills. Our camps offer a partial to a full day (8 hours!) of supervised, safe and relaxing time to play these games, to socialize and to get away from all those screens! Following the Covid19 pandemic there are many other reasons to return to social gaming.
MAGIC CAMPS
Mon-Fri, 9:30AM – 2PM. (lunch at 12pm) Limit 14 players/day. Magic campers must bring or purchase their own Magic: the Gathering decks. New players will receive a Welcome Deck/pack to keep and one-on-one instruction from one of our camp counselors and then be assigned/encouraged to play with others. Intermediate players will be encouraged to play each other using their own decks from home. Card trading with one another, deck building or playing other formats are also encouraged. Magic campers should bring a lunch, snacks, beverage or be able to purchase them from us or our neighboring merchants. (more lunch info below). Parents must sign a waiver to allow their kids to leave the store for lunch.
Magic campers will each receive ONE Magic booster pack each day, (included in cost) usually right after lunch. We will also have exclusive promo cards to give to participants on certain days. We always try and offer deeper magic discussions but most of the time the campers just want to play. At any time we may discuss any of the following: how to play competitive magic, deck-building, card values and card trading. We cannot possibly cover everything in one day. We usually ask the group each day what they would like to talk about.
MAGIC CAMP PAYMENTS/SIGN UP
For Magic Camp, we offer 1-day, 5-day and 10-day blocks. Each day’s session is 4½ hours. You can use your sessions spread out or all together. If you run out you can sign up for more. This allows more flexibility and convenience for you. REMEMBER TO ENTER THE DATES AND NAME OF YOUR CAMPER DURING CHECKOUT! If you do not know all the dates you want, the sessions will be on record as paid until you let us know. If the dates are already full, we will contact you with alternates. Once payments and dates are confirmed, they are signed up.
D&D CAMPS
Mon – Fri, 3pm – 5:30pm (session). We hope to add 2 more sessions soon. Limit 6 players/DM. Due to limited space, there is sometimes some jostling of players around with different dungeon masters. We ask that returning players please be patient and flexible.
What to bring to D&D Camp: Campers must bring their imaginations! Each Camp session includes 2½ hours of D&D adventures with a store-approved Dungeon Master (all dungeon masters (DM’s) are store employees), pre-generated, printed character sheets (if desired) and use of in-store D&D miniatures. All 3-day/full-week D&D campers will be given a set of D&D dice to keep and to use. They must bring these dice each day and are asked not to share their dice (due to Covid). Other supplies as needed or determined by the DM will be provided. Campers can bring their own Player’s Handbook, but are not required.
D&D CAMP PAYMENTS
For D&D Camp, each session is 2½ hours. Sessions can not be transferred to other weeks due to the 6-player limitations. At this time, single-day D&D sessions are not offered. Unless health or family emergency, missed sessions are non-refundable but they can be transferred to Afterschool D&D sessions.
SIGNING UP If you forget to enter your dates during checkout after your payment you can email us your dates separately. If the dates you choose are already full, we will contact you with alternates. Although reservations are not required, they are STRONGLY encouraged. The farther out you reserve, the better chance at getting your dates. Last-minute signups are allowed if there is still space. Once payments and dates are confirmed, they are signed up! Your camper’s name should appear in our online calendar.
D&D Online : At this time we are not offering online D&D.
