We will offer discounts on most merchandise in the store. Details coming soon!
In 2007 when I took over this pre-existing hole-in-the-wall business and switched the name to OTHER WORLDS, bringing my own energy and ideas, I never realized how much impact a single small business can have on a community.
After more than 14 years, I have seen thousands of visitors (literally) and have become friends with many of them. I have watched their kids grow and go off to college. I have also had the privilege to hire and work with so many in the community as well.
To hear how our store, our events and the products that we sell have impacted their lives, their families and their children’s lives, makes owning and working in a small business such as this even more rewarding. We are a community center, a safe haven and provide an often arcane but popular range of entertainment.
When you support any small business you are helping them stay open and to continue their relationships with their own communities and the effects they have on local families. You are helping them continue to HIRE local, to SPEND local and in our case, to offer a supportive community for youth and local schools.
I believe the Coivd-19 pandemic has further strengthened that bond. People have demonstrated, through their spending, how they truly support their local businesses and that they understand the importance of these stores in their communities.
As a small business owner, the least I can say is THANK YOU, but the most I can try to do is to STAY IN BUSINESS.
THANK YOU for supporting local! We hope to see you this weekend.
